Applications for 2024-2025 will open on December 1st

The regular enrollment period for the 2024 - 2025 school year is scheduled to open on December 1, 2023, at 9:00 AM and will run until Friday, February 23, 2024, at 4:00 PM. If we receive more applications during the regular enrollment than we have seats available, a random lottery will be held on February 28th at 6:00 PM. 

Applications are still accepted after the regular enrollment period! All students applying after the last Friday in February will be placed in any available seats on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Tour Our School!

Join our Baxter Academy Student Ambassadors on a campus tour. Tours are offered most Thursday and Friday afternoons through the remainder of the school year. Tours of our campus run about 45 minutes on average. If none of the regularly scheduled times work for your family, please contact our Enrollment Team at admissions@baxter-academy.org.


Intent to Enroll Process

The enrollment process for the 2024 - 2025 school year opens on December 1, 2023, at 9:00 am.

Note: Current students do not need to fill out Letters of Intent to Enroll or an Application, those are for prospective students. Currently, enrolled students who will be returning next year do fill out a Commitment to Enroll after the lottery in March.


Step One: Submit Letter of Intent to Enroll AND an Application

How to submit a Letter of Intent to Enroll:

The first step in your application process will be to fill out a Letter of Intent to Enroll. Completed letters of intent should be submitted online by filling out the form which will be linked here. After submitting your Letter of Intent to Enroll, please move on to filling out an application.

How to submit aN APPLICATION

Immediately after filling out your Letter of Intent to Enroll, please complete the application on the PowerSchool Portal. This will give us the information we need to get you plugged into our Lottery on Wednesday, March 1st or to get you added to our waitlist in order by timestamp after our regular application period ends.

You will open the link that will appear below and click “Create Account” to start the application process. If you already have a student attending Baxter Academy, you do not need to create a new account, just sign in to your normal PowerSchool account.

Once both the Application and Letter of Intent to Enroll are completed, await further notification from the school on your enrollment status. If you run into any issues or have any questions, reach out to Tyler Beaulieu at admissions@baxter-academy.org.


Step Two: Await Further Notification

Soon after the regular application period ends, you’ll be notified of your enrollment status. If there are more applicants than available enrollment placements, Maine Charter law states that we must proceed with a random lottery.

The 2024-2025 lottery will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. The random lottery determines enrollment and waitlist status for all students who have completed the initial application process by February 23rd at 4:00 PM. All students applying after the regular enrollment period will be placed on the waitlist according to timestamp.

Please note: All siblings of current students will be offered enrollment prior to a lottery after completing the application process. Baxter Academy also gives enrollment preference to children of the school’s full-time employees, board members, and founders, as long as they constitute no more than 10% of the school’s total student population.


Step Three: Commitment to Enroll

Students who have been offered enrollment at Baxter will have fourteen (14) days to secure their space by submitting the Commitment to Enroll form. The link to the Commitment to Enroll PowerSchool portal will be emailed to you when the space becomes available. If Baxter has not received the Commitment to Enroll form after fourteen (14) days, the placement will be released to the next prospective student on the waitlist. Once our Enrollment Coordinator receives this form, your spot at Baxter will be secure. You always have the option to choose to relinquish your spot.


Enrollment Calendar

Every year, there are three phases to our enrollment calendar. They roughly break out into these three categories:

  • Regular Enrollment Period (December - February)

    • Applications received are for the upcoming Fall semester.

    • A random lottery determines enrollment and waitlist status for all students who have completed the initial application process by the deadline on our website (normally the Friday after President’s Day).

  • Rolling Admissions for the Fall (March - September)

    • Applications received are for the upcoming Fall semester.

    • Any available seats are awarded on a first-come first-serve basis. If no seats are available you will be placed on the waitlist in timestamp order.

  • Rolling Admissions for the Spring (October - January)

    • Applications received are for the upcoming Spring semester. Students applying after the last Friday in September for the current school year are applying to join us at the start of the Spring semester.

    • Any available seats are awarded on a first-come first-serve basis. If no seats are available you will be placed on the waitlist in timestamp order.

    • Rolling admissions for the spring will close before the start of the spring semester.
