Dear Baxter Parents:
Wednesday, October 24 is Unity Day, a day sponsored by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to encourage communities to join together against bullying and unite for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. This kind of unity is something we see and strive for every day at Baxter. Wear ORANGE on Wednesday if you’d like to stand out and show your support for unity against bullying.
Can you believe school has been in session for 7 weeks? Time flies! Students have completed a variety of assessments - projects, tests, papers, etc. We want to celebrate their progress towards meeting standards, so please login into Slate, and check out your student’s progress. If you are having trouble accessing Slate, please note the following:
In September, Slate login instructions were emailed to all parents who a) have an email in our Infinite Campus database, and b) are listed as a guardian of record in that database.
If you have not received login instructions, please reach out to Anna Gervais and provide your email address and guardian status so we can update our records. Also copy programmer Hallie Larsson on that email to ensure that Slate login credentials are promptly sent to you.
Once you receive the login information email, be advised that your email address will be your user name and you will select your own password by clicking "Forgot password?" and proceeding accordingly.
Parent workshops will be held in the Great Room from 6pm-7pm on October 25th & November 8th for those who want guidance on Slate usage. Sign up for one of these sessions using the link in the ACTION ITEMS section.
Lastly, we can’t wait to hear how students spent their Anytime/Anywhere Learning days! Please makes sure that your student’s learning form is complete. A link to this form is also provided under ACTION ITEMS.
Note that the school calendar has been updated to reflect the Student Led Conferences date of November 13. The calendar can be found at this link.

Baxter Ambassador students have just completed their second week of STEM workshops for Boys and Girls club kiddos. The group has one more week of programming classes to run before they move on to CAD and then Arduino. If you would like to participate in teaching a CAD or Arduino workshop, please let email@example.com know!
Please see the side menu bar (or scroll to the bottom of these email if you are on your phone) to see more extracurricular opportunities.

All families: If you are interested in learning more about postsecondary planning at Baxter, please join us for a presentation at the SLCs on Nov. 13 at either 12pm or 5:30pm. We’ll be talking most about planning for current juniors and seniors, but families with students in all grades are welcome to attend as there will be material relevant for students at all stages of planning.
Anytime/Anywhere Learning days are a great chance for students in all grades to work on postsecondary planning. Job shadows with family friends or relatives, college visits (even if it’s the college around the corner!), and college and career research is all time well spent. Please reach out to your student’s counselor if you have a question about postsecondary planning of any kind!
12th grade: Please read our updated Senior Notes for more information about the postsecondary process, including some notes on essay writing and deadlines.
